I Can’t Wait for… If It Bleeds by Stephen King

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about and have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released, but not necessarily. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, which was originally hosted at Breaking the Spine.

My pick for this week is a new collection of novellas from the master of horror that promise to pull us out of this plague-ridden madness and into intriguing and frightening places…

Title: If It Bleeds

Author: Stephen King

Publisher: Scribner

Publication Date: May 5, 2020

Genres: Horror

Shelves:

From #1 New York Times bestselling author, legendary storyteller, and master of short fiction Stephen King comes an extraordinary collection of four new and compelling novellas—Mr. Harrigan’s PhoneThe Life of ChuckRat, and the title story If It Bleeds—each pulling you into intriguing and frightening places.

The novella is a form King has returned to over and over again in the course of his amazing career, and many have been made into iconic films, including “The Body” (Stand By Me) and “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption” (Shawshank Redemption). Like Four Past MidnightDifferent Seasons, and most recently Full Dark, No StarsIf It Bleeds is a uniquely satisfying collection of longer short fiction by an incomparably gifted writer.

  1. I didn’t realize this was novellas. I’ll have to add it to the list. I just wish the cover were better. It looks like someone slapped it together in a matter of minutes😬
