Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books we are adding to our shelves, whether they be physical or digital. This includes books bought (my wife would say I buy too many), borrowed (a rare occurrence), and received for review (which I’m trying to reign in).

New Acquisitions: Paperback Treasures

Well, bookstores may be closed and we may be on self-isolation lock down, but I did some online shopping when our vacation was canceled . . . and another (small) shipment aarrived this week.

Lady of the Trillium by Marion Zimmer Bradley and Sky Trillium by Julian May complete my Saga of the Trillium collection. I read the first book, Black Trillium, back during my university days but I’m thinking of a reread before continuing with the saga.

Review Titles

A quiet week on the review front with a finished paperback copy and a digital ARC.

Eden is the new horror eco thriller by Tim Lebbon about the Virgin Zones, thirteen vast areas of land off-limits to people and given back to nature, featuring a clandestine team of adventure racers who discover that Nature has returned to Eden in an elemental, primeval way . . . and nature is no longer humanity’s friend.

Blood Rain by Rajeev Singh is a female-fronted erotic horror novella about five people who set out to unravel the terrifying secret of a remote West African island, completely unprepared for what’s waiting for them.

New Acquisitions: Digital Titles

A trio of digital freebies this week…

The Monstrous Burden of Professor Darkwood by John Robert Mills is a steampunk fantasy about an expert in mythology and the archaeologist who leads her beneath the city . . . and tricks her into awakening a crypt full of ancient horned giants.

Shadow Eclipse: Voyage by by E.M. Gale is a sci-fi adventure about a woman stuck 200 years out of time, on the run from the Yakuza, trying to hide the fact that she’s just become a vampire, who has just signed onto a small, heavily armed, and surprisingly disciplined smuggling ship.

How & Where He Belongs by Jesse Quinn is a female-led romance about a man who stumbles across an invitation from a sex researcher to participate in a study that will change his life forever . . . and for the better.

The Crossdressing Detective by CC Collette is an erotic story full of fumbling and bumbling as the hero(ine) attempts to solve a puzzling case by crossdressing by going undercover in the lingerie section of an upscale Tokyo department store.
