Transathon is a month-long (July 1st-31st) reading challenge hosted by @transathon on Twitter, designed to get people reading trans books and supporting trans authors. I first read about it on Corey’s Book Corner this morning and immediately knew I’d have to juggle my TBR pile to take part.
You can sign up HERE and follow along on Twitter & Instagram with the #Transathon hashtag.
I won’t be covering all of the categories (mostly because I have other review commitments to stay on top of), but my TBR plans include:
- A book written by a trans woman
- Chaser by Dharma Kelleher (DONE!)
- A book written by a nonbinary author
A book written by a trans man- A book with a trans MC
- The Book of Transformations by Mark Charan Newton
- The Stone in the Skull by Elizabeth Bear
- These are both big books, so I may not necessarily get through both of them, but I’m excited about both
A nonfiction trans book- A book with a nonbinary MC
- The First Sister by Linden Lewis (DONE!)
- A book with multiple trans characters
- Scheherazade’s Facade edited by Michael M. Jones
- This is a short collection I pulled down off the shelf, with stories by Tanith Lee and Aliette de Bodard (among others)
- Scheherazade’s Facade edited by Michael M. Jones
- A book with the word trans in the title
- A graphic novel with a trans character

WomenInSFF is a month-long (July 1st-31st) reading challenge hosted by The Fantasy Hive, designed to spotlight female SFF authors. Participating in this one is kind of a no-brainer for me, since it’s predominantly what I read anyway.
You can sign follow along on Twitter & Instagram with the #WomenInSFF hashtag.
There’s no challenge categories with this one, just female authors, but my TBR plans include:
- Goldie by Danni Maxwell (DONE!)
- Strands of Sollus: Rewoven by Cheryl Suchacek (DONE!)
- Forbidden Desire by Robin Lovett (DONE!)
- My Girlfriends are Pirate Elves! Book 2 by Eden Redd
- The Stone in the Skull by Elizabeth Bear
- The First Sister by Linden Lewis (DONE!)
- The Dark Wood by Zadie Black (DONE!)
- The Seared Lands by Deborah A. Wolf
- Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey

I love these reading challenges! Also, Chuck Tingle is an international treasure. ❤
